How do i tell my coach I dont want to dive anymore?
Q. I've varsitied for the past 3 years in diving, but i just don't want to do it anymore. A lot of the team is does not want to come back, but I want to politely tell my coach I won't be returning. How can I do this?
Asked by gghomerunner13 - Tue Aug 12 23:03:34 2008 - Etiquette - 5 Answers - Comments

A. Just tell your coach that you don't have much interest in diving anymore and that it was a wonderful 3 years (if they were, that is). You can also say that you need to take care of other things or focus on more important things than diving.

How can a life coach support battered women powerfully rebuild their lives?
Q. I had heard of an organization in Southern Calfornia that supports women who have been battered to create completely new lives with a job and home using hair stylists, therapists, coaches, home renovation folks, etc. The particular organization (which I can't remember the name of) already had a life coach that was providing support for their particular area. I'd like to find another organization in Southern California where I could volunteer my services. Can anyone help point me in the right direction?

A. Life coaching for women who have been battered is a great idea and awesome that you want to volunteer in that capacity! Here's a (long) list of over 150 agencies that specialize in domestic violence services in California: and a list of California domestic violence shelters:

How do I convince my dad to be our basketball coach next year?
Q. So my other coach is retiring and he said that if someone else doesn't ask for the job, this other guy will get it. This other guy is a pain in the ***, and he is so mean. Like, he yells for nothing. My dad used to play basketball in high school, and he used to coach at a middle school. We really need him to coach us. All of the players on the team want him as our coach. I ask him, but he doesn't give me an answer. We start practicing early, and we really need him. Any ideas?
Asked by Tyler - Sat Apr 30 21:30:56 2011 - Family - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Tell your dad that this is really important to you and how much you and your team would appreciate it. Say that it would be another way you could spend time together, after all you don't have much time left together before you move away from home. Hope this helps!

What does it take to become a college basketball coach?
Q. I am a Freshman in college and I am not good enough to play college ball but I am smart enough to coach college ball. I have been about coaching lately and want to change my major. What major would best suit my goals? I obviously don't think that I would just be able to start as a head coach right away, so are there any other jobs that I could do to work my way up the ladder?

A. just ask if you could take a few practises at this position. with your size he may be hesitant. but practises should be fine. will take more mental preparation than physical skills. there never is no harm in asking, and giving it a try. plus you do have a assured position to return to. skills will improve even in short term practises. a fact your coach is aware off.

A. If it were up to me I would ban a guy like that... easily. If a coach can't control himself then he shouldn't be there. I don't care how tough the game is on the ice... I don't care how violent the players can be with each other. Coaches should have different standards. If I played for a coach who lost it like that I would have no respect for him. I'd ban him for life. I can guarantee you that it would never happen again from any future coach. And that shows that incidents like that can be controlled.

A. If I were going to do this, I would definitely have some college behind me. I would rather go to a life coach who has a degree, so I am assuming most people would as well. Do a search online to see what kind of degress are held by these people. Possibly a psych degree would be good. You know, the study of human behavior. Search out someone who is a life coach now and ask them. I don't see why they wouldnt' talk to you and answer your questions. I think there are a few of these types of people on myspace. I may even have one on my friends list. I will post the link below if you would like to look through them. Myspace would be an excellent place to search for a life coach to probe their brain. Good luck.

Asked by Mike - Mon Apr 9 16:18:25 2007 - Other - Soccer - 1 Answers - Comments

A. Well, it all depends on what level you're talking about. I coach a high school team, and I need a teaching certificate for that, and CPR certification, and a police department background check, and then an interview with the school's athletic director. Club teams, college teams, other levels all have their own requirements.

A. There are a lot of ways, but it mostly comes down to selling yourself as a person and player. As a player, just play as well as you can. There's not a lot you can do other than what you can do. :) To show your character and coachability, always hustle everywhere. When you get feedback, nod, paraphrase or smile to show you understand, then say "thanks". Also ask lots of questions. Coaches will like this because it shows that you want to learn and appreciate their help. The other big thing is to have fun when you are playing. When your teammate gets a kill or a great dig, celebrate with them and be loud. Hope this helps!

What is the probability that the coach selects at least 2 passing plays and at least 3 running plays?
Q. Assume that the playbook contains 11 passing plays and 15 running plays. The coach randomly selects 8 plays from the playbook. What is the probability that the coach selects at least 2 passing plays and at least 3 running plays?
Asked by IUstudent3 - Tue Mar 3 18:14:29 2009 - Mathematics - 3 Answers - Comments

A. answer = probability that he selects exactly 2, 3, 4 or 5 passing plays prob that he selects exactly two passing plays = (8C2)*(11*10)* (15*14*13*12*11*10) /(26*25*...19) where: 8C2 is the number of ways of choosing two slots out of 8 and prob that he selects first passing play = 11/26 prob that he selects second passing play = 10/25 etc You can calculate the other three cases similarly and sum to obtain the answer.

Q. I'm planning a ride on the western maryland scenic train ride, unfortunately I'm a little too late with the first class seating option, so I have to settle for coach? It's half the price, but is it worth it? How is the interior? Are there a lot of kids? Any suggestions?

A. Coach is worth is especially if you get to see the fall colors. If you are going to western Maryland you might also look into Cass Scenic RR in West Virginia or Strasburg RR in Pa. The seasons are about done so you might want to book a spring trip instead.
