Asked by Zelman - Mon Jan 4 15:37:36 2010 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. i would say most likely not. when you first go to a kibbutz you are given the most menial jobs that there are, everyone does this. the longer you are there the better the job, but to be honest there are very few jobs on the kibbutz that take years of study or professionalism, except the doctor, nurses, teachers etc. the upside of kibbutz life is that it is wonderful for kids, especially if they are younger than high school age, you dont have to worry about paying any bills, it is very social. if you were to go to one, i wouldnt go around telling them about your skills until you had been there for at least a couple of years... they would find it insulting that you could think you could design it better than they do ( even if you can). if… [cont.] Answered by curious1 - Mon Jan 4 20:50:25 2010 What do people normally do on a kibbutz?

Not in my words "Since life around here has gotten fairly routine I thought I'd share exactly how I fill the hours of the day I'm awake with you... I wake up every morning at 6:15 AM. From there I generally do my morning routine. I get dressed in true work clothing provided by the kibbutz. Since its blue collar work we do they issue blue t-shirts and blue work pants. Work boots are also provided, but they're not blue. By the time I'm ready for work I grab my ipod and walk the 15 or so minutes it takes to get to the factory. There I really wake up as I get my first cup of coffee. We stand around for awhile waiting for the foreman to come in and tell us what to do. Then its time work.
