From Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A society is a body of individuals that is outlined by the bounds of functional interdependence, comprising also possible characteristics or conditions such as national or cultural identity, social solidarity, or eusociality. Human societies are characterized by patterns of relationships between individuals that share a distinctive culture and institutions. Like other communities or groups, a society allows its individual members to achieve needs or wishes that they could not fulfill separately by themselves without the existence of solidarity. Society, however, can be ontologically independent of, and utterly irreducible to, the qualities of constituent individuals; it may act to oppress. The urbanization and rationalization inherent in some, particularly Western capitalist, societies, has been associated with feelings of isolation and social "anomie". More broadly, a society is an economic, social or industrial infrastructure, made up of a varied multitude of individuals. Members of a society may be from different ethnic groups. A society may be a particular ethnic group, such as the Saxons; a nation state, such as Bhutan; a broader cultural group, such as a Western society. The word society may also refer to an organized voluntary association of people for religious, benevolent, cultural, scientific, political, patriotic, or other purposes. A "society" may even, though more by means of metaphor, refer to a social organism such as an ant colony. From Wikipedia under the

Society: The totality of social relationships among humans. A group of humans broadly distinguished from other groups by mutual interests, participation in characteristic relationships, shared institutions, and a common culture. The institutions and culture of a distinct self-perpetuating group. An organization or association of persons engaged in a common profession, activity, or interest: a folklore society; a society of bird watchers. The rich, privileged, and fashionable social class. The socially dominant members of a community. Companionship; company: enjoys the society of friends and family members. When did society begin to realise that feminism is a movement of paedophelia and abusiveness? Feminism is fundamentally a sexist, sex-based, and sex-biased ideological credo based on fear and hatred of men and boys. Paedophilia and abusiveness are just part and parcel of that. OK so we know about The Vagina Monologues "One of the most disturbing scenes in the play is titled "The Little Coochie Snorcher that Could" ... In this monologue an adult woman joyfully recounts the story of how, as a 13-year-old girl, she was supplied with alcohol and raped by a 24-year-old woman And in another monologue the audience are invited to join in chanting 'c***' together at the end. Also the offender is female in 1 in 3 cases of non-forcible sex crimes against boys aged 0-11 years old according to data from the US 2000 National Incident-Based Reporting System (McCloskey & Raphael 2005, p.16). Q. I mean to say can society still function well without the study of Psychology? What are the top reasons why we need it? Or what about other kinds of "soft science" in general? Isn't it more important to know about Quantum Physics, Bioengineering, etc than why people interact the way they do? Asked by Politically Incorrect - Mon Aug 24 18:29:18 2009 - - 10 Answers - 0 Comments A. Psychology is useful, but only insofar as it is grounded in reality. Without a thorough knowledge of quantum physics, one's reality is dictated by one's limited senses and the deluded hypotheses one constructs about how things work, based on one's limited senses. It's like Plato's analogy of a man who lives his life in a cave and interprets the world by the shadows he sees cast on the wall by a fire. Since most everyone, including psychologists, are rooted in what I call a Newtonian consciousness, which is based on an outdated and failed theory, then there is likely to be a misunderstanding of why one suffers. The core of psychology is to understand brain chemistry, human behavior, mental disorder, sources of mental anguish, etc. and to… [cont.] Answered by eldelfinalegre - Mon Aug 24 22:02:41 2009 From Yahoo Answer Search: "society" Quotes about society.
